Ah you are on a Laptop with two Graphics devices. The integrated Intel Graphics and a dedicated Nvidia Chip. Now the problem is the following: Windows renders its desktop often/most of the time using your integrated Intel chip while Games will be rendered using your dedicated Nvidia chip. Now for OBS to capture your monitor you will probably have to select the Intel Chip in the Video settings of OBS (there is a dropdown menu), but to capture a Game you have to make sure its using the Nvidia Chip.

(Laptops are kinda bad) The Nvidia Control Panel should give you an option to run OBS on the 'dedicated Nvidia High performance processor' so you can capture games. The best would be, if you can completely deactivate the Intel chip, so your desktop would be rendered using the Nvidia, but only some laptops allow this. So first of all, please test if you can capture your Monitor if you select the Intel Chip in OBS settings. If that works, we know the reason for your problems. Then you have to see how you can grab a game etc, depending on what you plan to do:).
